Ian Atkinson is an award-winning photographer, noted for his highbrow portraiture and street photography. It seems incredible that in an industry where talented men and women continually produce amazing and spellbinding images, photographers branding often uses silhouettes of a camera, lens or iris, a frame or the use of a script style font.
The goal was to create an iconic mark and identity that clearly resonated the precision of a master photographer and which clearly identified Ian from his contemporaries.
A modernist geometric theme was used in the development of the design, using Ian’s initials as the basis of the logo that doubles as a lens view-finder. Choosing a golden palette that was carried through each element of the project, also gave the design the luxurious quality that Ian’s work has. The result is a clean mark that identifies Ian and his craft.
